The bed felt like it had seen better days, giving a sway that resembled a sinking ship, and unfortunately, the provided small pillows did not add to comfort during the night. Additionally, there were issues with noise from the surroundings, particularly from the kitchen and staff entrance, creating a less than peaceful atmosphere.

I found the Hyatt Place in Overland Park to be a decent place for my recent stay. The location is really convenient, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. However, there were several downsides that need addressing. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we had to evacuate. The staff seemed unsure of what triggered it and there was confusion about where the stairs were. The elevators were out of service, which forced me to take the stairs after having foot surgery, adding unnecessary stress. The managers didn’t offer any refunds for the hassle. On top of that, the room I was initially given had a bad smell, which was quite off-putting. While I did enjoy some aspects of the hotel, those significant issues need to be taken care of before I consider returning.
